SATURDAY
Before heading to Siculiana WWF reserved area, we stopped for breakfast at Villagio Muse’.They have the best Cannoli ! We bought some breads and an arancini with us for lunch at the beach.
The reserved area was cool. Unfortunately we were told that the guided tour is already full for the following 2 days… (It’s FREE!) It’s a pity that my stay is short and so I won’t be able to participate… so we continued our bumpy ride to the beach.After lots of uphill, bumps, and curves… we finally see the seaside. It seems very isolated, just what I wanted. So here we are, TORRE SALSA.
We spent the whole day there sunbathing, swimming, taking a walk along the beach…. Apparently it’s a nude beach at the far end of the bay, even though it seems to be privileged to males sunbathers. Lots of free willy .... EWWWWW
We left at sunset. To get back to our car, we actually have to do some trekking. At one point I stopped to talk to Giuseppe, and THERE, bad lucks came back to haunt me. I GOT STUNG BY A BEE……….
It HURTS. And then we saw that I actually stopped right in front of the hive.. I don’t understand.. WHY?! Why THERE???!!!!!!!! With no other alternative, I ran passed the hive screaming. Giuseppe then told me that there were 4 of them chasing after me for a few meters…. And he was afraid of them too…..
So, once he came over to my side, he started to throw stones at the hive. I was screaming at him, threatening that I’m going to leave, than its hurting me too much and I’m dying. But he wasn’t listening, insisted to destroy it just in case other people have to take the same path, especially children (And he was right, there were a group of kids right after us, talking and laughing not knowing that there were actually GREAT DANGER just a few minutes ago! Poor me)
The hive was destroyed!!!!!YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I heard his footsteps running towards me.Apparently a snakes just passed by between his leg!
You know what honey? I think we better leave… this place is REALLY RESERVED… No matter how pretty the sunset is from here, I'M FREAKING OUT!!
